07/12/2021A new Foodtech startup, with cutting edge technology developing alternative proteins, is seeking a research assistant with a strong background in molecular biology, fermentation and protein analysis to work and develop a novel food product that will contribute to the future of global food production.
This role will focus on methods of protein choice and design, development of efficient fermentation process, analytical analysis of product characteristics and performance (with emphasis on food industry orientation). This position will require significant knowledge in molecular biology and microbiology and involves significant hands-on laboratory work. Candidates should be highly creative, motivated, organized, proactive, and able to balance multiple projects.
Job description
Responsibilities
- Design and execute various biological research projects "HANDS-ON"
- Compose technical and documentation, including data analysis and presentation of scientific and experimental work
- Meet project goals and timelines
- Develop new processes, formulations, and products
- Contribute to the effective operation of the lab
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in biotechnology, bioengineering, life science, microbiology or related disciplines
- Experienced in fermentation of Yeast/bacteria
- Protein purification and analysis; Ultra filtration, chromatography (size exclusion, ion exchange), SDS-PAGE, Immunostaining etc.
- Experienced with Molecular Biology methods
- Ability to summarize, interpret and review experimental data with adequate computer skills for data acquisition, data management and visualization of experimental results
- Experience in industrial product & process development and scale-up
- Solid organizational skills including attention to details and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication skills and team playing
